Today was a BIG day! We welcomed back our youngest students in grades TK through 2nd to a hybrid in-person program. Students attend in either the mornings or afternoons for 2 1/2 hours, Mondays through Thursdays. On Fridays, all students are on distance learning.
The teachers, administrators and staff worked very hard to make this day happen. Students were dropped off and enter through an assigned door for temperature checks and hand sanitizer. Then, staff helped students find their classes. Classes have up to 16 students, all sitting at least 4-6 feet apart. There is one brief recess each day per class and free lunches can be picked up when school is over.
Drop-off and pick-up time ran smoothly today, with a little traffic back-up that we think we can improve on in the days to come.
There was a lot of JOY in the air at MES today. Everyone seemed very happy to be back at school. We are proud to be reopening school gradually and cautiously so that everyone can remain safe and healthy. We are very hopeful that our other grades can return back very soon. Grades 3-5 will begin this coming Monday, March 8th. As soon as we return to the Red Tier on the CA Blueprint, we will prepare to open our other schools.
Thanks for your patience and support as we reopen our schools for in-person learning!
