May 11, 2020

Today I held the Parent Advisory Committee meeting.  Thank you to those of you who attended and offered great ideas.  The next meeting will be held prior to physically reopening the program.

The Parent Surveys will be available when the program is physically reopened.  At this time I want to let you know that I am available to speak to you via email, phone, or text.  Please call me if you have any questions or suggestions.

The program will continue virtually for subsidized students.  Per state mandates the children are expected to participate but will not be graded.  Effective June first  academic, social/emotional, health/safety, and nature activities will be posted in the Husky Club Google Classroom. If non subsidized families would like their children to participate, they need only send me their child(ren)'s name(s) via email or text.

As soon as I am able to continue our regular program, I will contact my registered families and post the date on our webpage.  I miss all of you and hope you are well and happy.

Program Information:

The After School program is open from 1:45 PM to 5:30 PM.  Husky Club provides a healthy snack at 2:40 PM.  We have scheduled activities including homework, arts and crafts, gross motor activities and games, academic curriculum (science, math, and literacy), character education, and free play.  Each group has separate instruction and staff to ensure age appropriate peer interaction and encourage friendships. Husky Club provides opportunities for children’s growth academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and in many other areas.  This is accomplished through monitoring of free play and daily organized centers and activities.   Please note that our program is not drop in.  Please sign up your children the week prior to needed care.  Payment is required before services are provided.

Our summer and vacation program begins at 7:30 AM with free play.  Weather permitting, we go outside at 8:00 for gross motor free play.  At 8:45 we call the children back inside for morning meeting to discuss the day and the highlights for the week.  At 9:00 we offer a morning snack.  After snack the younger children are separated from the older children and activities/curriculum is designed for each group based on development and interest level.  Lunch is served at 12:00 and we prepare a hot lunch that children may purchase for $3.25.  Afternoon snack is at 3:00.   Husky Club closes at 5:30 PM.

Please note that the schedule is subject to change due to circumstances beyond our control and to ensure your child's safety.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me.

Sincerely,

Sandy Zeldis
