Long-term visioning and strategic planning

Mammoth Unified School District is embarking on a long-term visioning and strategic planning process to reimagine education in MUSD. This vision will be a true 'north star,' guiding and aligning all district initiatives and plans. Students, families, staff, trustees, and community partners will work together to define what every learner needs to thrive, what every adult needs to support them, and what systems must be in place to support both students and adults.

A GUIDING COALITION

The Guiding Coalition is a representative group of students, families, staff, district leaders, trustees, and community members. This is our visioning steering committee - tasked with contributing ideas, perspectives, expertise, and experience that will inform the creation of the district's long-term vision. Through a series of three design sessions, we will explore the future of Mammoth Unified School District and the connected needs of MUSD's students, schools, and educators. Together we will consider the future of learning through the eyes of students and educators; we'll identify existing examples of transformation and visit extraordinary present-day exemplars. Drawing from what we've learned along with input from our broader community, we will develop a catalytic vision of success for our schools and students.

These portraits and core values are outcomes of the visioning process; their specific attributes will be shaped with our community.

GRADUATE PORTRAIT
A shared picture of what MUSD graduates should know, be, and be able to do as they move into college, careers, community, and life. It helps align learning experiences with those aspirations.

ADULT PORTRAIT
A shared picture of the mindsets, skills, and practices adults across MUSD need to support each student in reaching the Graduate Portrait.

SYSTEM PORTRAIT
A description of the system needed in the school district in order to create the conditions that will enable adults to attain the Adult Portrait and support students in realizing the Graduate Portrait.

CORE VALUES
A set of beliefs and values that guide the school district's actions and culture over time
